 WE are excited about all students coming to the media center and READING!

 Monday – Friday Mr. Schorr is in the media center to assist staff and students with reading and library activities.   At North we focus on using the Accelerated Reading system to improve our students’ reading.  During library time at North Mr. Schorr will be checking out books, reading to students and involving students in library activities that will teach our students about using the library and its resources.   In the library we recognize many holidays and books genres through displays that help our students to choose great books as they develop their reading habits and skills.  In addition, Mr. Schorr works with the teachers and staff at North with book collections for the classroom, helping with research topics students are studying in class and promoting the use of the media center for programs and activities.

Mrs. Hoskins will be in the library media center on Friday to tell stories to students and works closely with Mr. Schorr to help staff members with their classroom collections and assist with library duties.  

Mrs. Bowling, District Library Media Specialist, works throughout the year to order and catalog of the book collection at North.  She also helps to organize class activities and the Book Fair held annually in the media center.  Each year at North we have a great book fair in Feb. We also  celebrate Read Across America Day and encourage reading by supporting reading activities throughout the building.  The media center is an exciting place here at North.
